The Military Road S project, S 150th Street to S 152nd Street and International Boulevard, redeveloped the stretch of Military Road by undergrounding the overhead utilities and installing new watermain and a storm system while maintaining access and throughput for the local businesses. The project elements include temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC); pavement planning, repair, and overlay; construction of curb, gutter, and cement concrete sidewalk; wheelchair ramps; storm drainage improvements; signage; pavement markings; a new traffic signal at Military Road and S 152nd Street, a modified traffic signal at S 152nd Street and Tukwila International Boulevard; a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) system; decorative illumination; and a joint utility trench for undergrounding utilities.
Perteet was very instrumental in the delivery of this project by working with the contractor, adjacent businesses, the new Tukwila Justice Center, and the traveling public to oversee the execution and maintenance of a safe working environment. The CM team tracked the unforeseen utility impacts to provide the City clear records and documentation for the recovery of third-party costs. This included negotiation with Seattle City Light, Water District 125, and CenturyLink on requested changes to the design and contract to protect the City from additional costs.
