Essential duties and responsibilities of a CAD Technician:

• Manage shifting priorities and communicate with project managers, designers, and other CAD Technicians.
• Troubleshoot, research, and problem solve CAD file and software issues.
• Set up and prepare drawings, exhibits, and engineering plans using Perteet CAD standards or other client standards.
• Manage AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings including plan sets, XREF’s, layers, title blocks, blocks, and viewport creation.
• Produce isometric drawings, perspective drawings, details, overlays, base drawings, maps, and illustrations.
• Modify drawings based on designer’s “redline” markups.
• Use other digital formats (i.e. Bluebeam, GIS, Adobe Photoshop) to create graphics and CAD drawings.
• Maintain records of CAD deliverables and supporting files at key project milestones.

Pay Range:  $35.00 to $43.00 depending upon relevant experience.

Perteet is currently searching for Construction Observer/Inspector candidates for exciting statewide opportunities. Candidates with prior experience working on private and public works projects that include the following types of construction are particularly sought:

• Heavy civil earthwork.
• Roadway layout including rough and fine grading.
• Bridge structures.
• Wet utilities such as storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systems.
• Dry utilities such as electrical ductbank, electrical vaults and handholds, traffic signals, traffic controller cabinets.
• ADA compliant ramps.
• Concrete and asphalt paving.

Additional skills for the successful candidate include:

• Experience with WSDOT and FHWA guidelines for inspection documentation.
• Physical capacity to be able to walk on rough terrain, handle utility frames and grates, and be able to function in high traffic areas.

• Ability/availability to work occasional longer mid-week hours and weekend hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with team members, developers, contractors, and local jurisdictions are a huge plus.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience in the administration and observation and documentation of construction activities.

We are seeking a qualified Environmental Scientist to assist our environmental team on a full-time basis. Located in Puget Sound and associated with Perteet’s Everett office, this position would provide support to various environmental assessments, environmental compliance, and infrastructure permitting projects. Work includes due diligence work, report preparation, and various environmental fieldwork. The successful candidate will be able to work independently in support of the Environmental Services Team and Perteet project managers with all aspects of client and project team coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Assume lead and supporting technical role for projects.
• Report writing, generation of figures, tables, and database management.
• Complete Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment.
• Support Project Managers in preparing scopes of services and fee estimates.
• Perform Investigations at chemically contaminated properties.
• Collection of soil and water samples using various sampling techniques.
• Prepare environmental documentation in support of NEPA, SEPA, and local agency permitting requirements.
• Planning and coordinating directly with subcontractors and field personnel.
• Assume supporting roles in proposals and business development activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in geology or environmental science; 8-10 years directly related professional experience and/or training in environmental assessment/remediation-related work.
• Completed HAZWOPER 40-hour training, along with an updated 8-hour refresher.
• Ability to obtain Washington State Site Assessor Certification (UST)
• Background in statistics and working with statistics software, such as Excel to derive meaningful results from various types of data.
• Must be self-sufficient, resourceful, and demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills.

• ARC GIS experience desirable.

Perteet is currently searching for a Lead Engineer to add to our Transportation Design Division in one of our North Central Region Offices (Wenatchee, WA).

Primary duties:

• Conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Determines major project design decisions in conjunction with clients and engineers such as setbacks, location of roadways, storm drains, sewer, and other utility routes, etc.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of projects assigned.
• Responsible for assuring that the client receives the designs and opinions described in the contract between the firm and the client, and that the cost of the project shall be within established budgets.
• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the professional work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.

Perteet is currently searching for a Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for statewide opportunities.  The successful candidate will have prior experience working on public roadways, utilities, and private development projects w/emphasis on roadway improvements, underground utilities construction, and project documentation per State and Federal requirements.  They will oversee construction projects, performance of contractors, run meetings, respond to all contractor submittals, manage schedules and budgets, and monitor regulatory compliance of all project documentation.  Candidates must have the physical capacity to be able to walk on rough terrain, handle utility frames and grates, and be able to function in high traffic areas.  Some long hours, night, and weekend work might be necessary during construction season.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, developers, contractors, and designers are a must.  Women and minorities strongly encouraged to apply.

• Demonstrating creativity and experience in traffic operations modeling, data analysis, and conducting research related to multi-modal transportation projects (transit, bicycles and pedestrians).
• Developing design packages for construction that include intelligent transportation systems, illumination and power, and traffic signals.
• Demonstrating ability to work with large or complex data sets, develop strategies to analyze transportation systems, and effectively summarize and communicate data, analysis processes, and results.

The successful candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, transportation planning, or related field.

Perteet is seeking an experienced, full-time Archaeology Crew Chief to join our tight-knit cultural resources group, based in Seattle, Washington. All our field projects are in Washington, and most are conducted in King and Snohomish Counties.

The salary range for this position is $32 to $37/hour

What you will be doing:

• Supervising archaeological fieldwork including pedestrian and shovel probe surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring independently or under the guidance of a Field Director
• Conducting solo fieldwork for small projects
• Maintaining quality notes and records both digitally and using printed forms
• Collecting data to document archaeological sites and completing archaeological site forms
• Conducting record searches on WISAARD and completing research tasks
• Collaborative technical report writing
• Occasional laboratory or cataloging work

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or an allied field that confers SOI qualification or Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology and at least 5 years experience in Washington State
• Accredited archaeological field school or equivalent training
• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a 4WD vehicle
• Physical ability to carry equipment and supplies (up to 30 lbs.) and walk or hike for long hours during fieldwork
• Willingness to occasionally travel to a project location for several consecutive days
• Based in Western Washington within reasonable commuting distance of Seattle
• Ability to conduct fieldwork in various environments and conditions including extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and rough terrain
• Ability to identify and describe technical attributes of archaeological artifacts commonly found in Washington
• Ability to accurately describe sediments and soils observed during fieldwork
• Strong technical writing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Own transportation
• Experience operating field equipment, including GPS equipment, cameras, and tablets
• Experience conducting fieldwork in Washington State
• Experience using ESRI software including Survey 123 and Field Maps
• Ability to adapt field methods to accommodate emergent conditions such as new data/observations, logistical constraints, or adverse environmental conditions
• Ability to synthesize field observations for interpretive purposes, including assessment of archaeological potential and evaluation of contextual integrity
• Active access to the WISAARD database
• Experience preparing archaeological site inventory forms in WISAARD
• Experience writing technical reports summarizing archaeological research methods, results, and recommendations
